Need help to put original drive back into NAS

Featured Replies

I tried to upgrade a 6 tb drive to a 12 tb drive in my nas. After putting the new drive in and adding it to the array, it started throwing errors and was unable to read the new disk. I should have tried to preclear it first, but lesson learned this time. I shut my array down and reinstalled the original 6tb drive back into the array. But now it won't let me start the array giving the error message "The replacement disk must be as big or bigger than the original. Any ideas how to resolve this aside from waiting for the replacement 12 tb drive to arrive and installing it?

Thanks in advance for help.

I don't see SMART report for an unassigned 12TB disk, so I guess you removed it. Likely nothing wrong with that disk itself, connection problems are more common when replacing disks.

To make Unraid allow you to put the original 6TB back into the array you will have to New Config
