November 20, 2025Nov 20 The ZFS Master plugin has been unmaintained for a long time (reference: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/122261-plugin-zfs-master/page/28/#comment-1585411), and as a result, Unraid currently lacks a reliable way to monitor or manage ZFS pools. Since ZFS is now officially supported, this gap has a real impact on users who rely on it for data integrity. At this point, native ZFS integration is becoming essential. Specifically, Unraid needs to provide:Built-in ZFS pool health monitoringAutomatic user notifications for errors, degradation, or resilver eventsNative snapshot creation, scheduling, pruning, and restorationA basic GUI for pool and dataset visibilityMost of these features require only simple underlying commands (zpool status, zfs list, etc.), so integrating them at the OS level should be far more achievable than many of the UI enhancements that have been prioritized recently. To be candid: ZFS was advertised as a supported feature, but without these core management tools it doesn’t feel complete. It would be very reassuring to see native ZFS functionality prioritized above cosmetic UI changes — especially since parts of the new “responsive UI” still suffer from usability issues like excessive horizontal scrolling.A solid, first-class ZFS experience would provide far more practical value to the community and would ensure that users running production-level storage can rely on Unraid for monitoring and data integrity.Thank you for considering this request — many users would greatly appreciate meaningful progress in this area.
November 21, 2025Nov 21 I'd agree, but I don't expect Limetech to give ZFS tools this easily to ignoramus and then support their rookie mistakes..

December 22, 2025Dec 22 snapshots is the only things that not in teh unraid platform At this point, native ZFS integration is becoming essential. Specifically, Unraid needs to provide:Built-in ZFS pool health monitoring - Been tthere day one beforfe the need of the zfs plugin...Automatic user notifications for errors, degradation, or resilver events - semi check (fcp plugin and other zfs realted syslog error will occur, jsut not notifed...)Native snapshot creation, scheduling, pruning, and restoration - Smei Check has alwys been a user script and mutiple varients on teh forum...A basic GUI for pool and dataset visibility - Check main page just not clear in documentations...most of these are burried in teh main tab and have been for quite some time...I click on vm-zfs:So I could see a script default send simlar to under scrup where a recursive snapshot is made on a schedule.udpates to the native open zfs support to include notify prompts and updates onteh pool when scrub started, when reslive made, when xyz is degraded via zpool stats %pool name%But alot has and has alwys been implemented...
January 3Jan 3 Whats with Datasets and Directory Listing Management or Overview?Without the ZFS Master Plugin i don't see/know a possibility for that.
January 3Jan 3 I just started setting up another server and zfs is a tool I plan on using. The ZFS master plugin, provides and easy way through the gui to manage the datasets and snapshots. Sure you can do all of this other ways but if your going to support ZFS then make easy to use and manage wtihout needing a terminal.
January 7Jan 7 I am a big user of ZFS and the lack of (up to date) ZFS support in the GUI is disappointing.
