Can't log into Asrock W880D4U BMC - need to adjust fan speed

Featured Replies

I've just finished migrating my old dell-pc based server to a shiny new Core ultra 7 on Asrock W880D4U in a Sagittarius case.

Unfortunately the fan speed seems to be pegged at 50% (1400rpm) and my four Arctic P12 Pro PST fans are howling like banshees.

I cannot access the BMC web ui or use the Asrock SMU software to see or change the fan curve. With SMU I can connect and launch the web-based KVM, but nothing else works inside the app.

The Asrock Rack BIOS does not have any kind of fan settings.

I've tried IPMIView which can connect but doesn't really have any proper fan control abilities.

The Unraid IPMI Support plugin can see the fans and their speed, but the Fan Control does not work.

Any suggestions appreciated as to how to connect to the BMC or otherwise push an updated fan curve!

UPDATE

For no reason at all the web UI just started working. For anyone who experiences similar issues trying to connect, I suspect there might be a REALLLLY long initialization period before it accepts logins.

My next question - there is no HD temp sensor available to the BMC. When building a Control Table for fan speed I can use FSC_INDEX or TEMP_CPU but nothing else seems relevant.

Anyone have a better idea?
