My first build

Featured Replies

After some planning I've finally built my first unraid server.

This is the final config:

Asus P5B-E PLUS

Intel Celeron 430

1GB PC800 RAM

550W PSU

1 x 750GB Samsung F1

1 x 500gb Samsung T166

I'm going to add more drives soon though.

The setup was extremely easy, after all the planning it only took me about 30 minutes to build the actual server and get it started. it's now hooked up to a gbit network and I get about 30-40MB/s on single file transfers (without parity). the strange thing is that I get twice as much if I start another transfer (to the same disk). Could it have something to do with Native Command Queuing (NCQ)? I enabled AHCI in the bios.

It would be nice if someone could take a quick look at the syslog. I want to be absolutely sure that everything is working okay before I purchase a pro license. Thanks

Your syslog looks fine, welcome to the unRAID club!
