Self extended test stuck at 90% - 28tb brand new drive it's been 21 hours no progress

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm new with a brand new config. Following along with guides, memtest indicates RAM is good to go.

Now I'm trying to ensure my brand new disk is healthy before starting. Sorry I'm completely new if these questions have an obvious answer.

DISK - DEV1- ST28000NT000-4AB103_K1S0R42L (sdb) - Seagate 28 TB IronWolf Pro

I started the test approx 21 hours ago and I don't see any progression still stuck at 90% remaining.

I know it takes days possibly but the no progress is what's worrisome to me.

I've ensured "Default spin down delay:"=Never. I haven't modified any other disk settings. Maybe this is incorrect\the cause?

Attached logs below:

Thank you for your time and consideration.

You can try again, another option is to assign the disks as data to the array, no parity, and run a read check. That's the same as an extended SMART check, and you can follow the progress better.
