Recurring problem with Parity disk is disabled

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am using Unraid for over a year now and recently have recurring problem with Parity disk being disabled. Once I get the error I am removing this disk and re-adding it in the array devices. This trigger parity sync and keeps the Parity Ok for several weeks but then it "crashes" once again and i have to repeat all those steps. I have also set up parity check once a month and very often this parity check does not finish because the speed is like several Kbits and estimated EOT is few hundred days.... During such parity checks I hear some clicking from the disk. I have verified these disks outside of unraid with 2 different apps and everything seems to be OK - no bad sectors. SMART is green for all 3 HDDs. Any help would be appreciated. My parity disk is ST6000VX001-2BD186_ZR15FQC3 - 6 TB.

Looks more like a power/connection issue; check/replace cables and try again.

hmm. You saying that which cables are the problem? The ssd data cables or power cables? If data then they were changed several months ago, if power cables I cannot change them as my psu is not modular.

That's what it looks like to me; it could be either cable.
