General question about installing apps like OwnCloud, Squeezebox Server, etc

Featured Replies

So this question isn't about a SPECIFIC application. I know there are a few plugins that can be installed with UnRaid.

For a while, I've been thinking that I could build a big unraid box with Crashplan, Tonido, Owncloud, media streamers, and many more things on it, but now after doing some more research, it seems that while it's possible to do so, it's easier to have these as separate devices. Is that right? Is the "recommended approach" to just have an unRAID box and that's all it does.... NAS. And then another box for all the apps that feed off of it? You just lose the benefit of local storage for those apps then. Thanks!
