December 4, 2025Dec 4 Hello,I’m a new Unraid user (installed 7.1.4 about 3 weeks ago), and I’m having an issue where the Mover does not transfer files from my data_cache drive to the array. The data_cache drive stays around 91 percent full constantly.I have two cache drives, but my concern is with data_cache, which I use specifically for data following Trash Guides recommendations. The share is set to “Move from cache → Array”, so files should move from cache to the array according to the Mover schedule — but they never do.SetupTwo cache drivesRegular cache (cache)Data cache (data_cache for large media writes)Share data configuration:Primary storage: data_cacheSecondary storage: ArrayMover action: Move from cache → ArrayAllocation method: High-waterFolder structure recreated after formatting the cache:mkdir -p /mnt/user/data/{torrents/{tv,movies,music},media/{tv,movies,music}} IssueFiles written to data_cache never move to the array, even after weeks.Even when I manually run the Mover, it appears that nothing happens. After manually deleting files from data_cache, the array kept:the actual files that were copied after data_cache became fullonly the empty folder structure for files that were copied earlierIt looks like all earlier files stayed on data_cache and were lost when I formatted the drive.Mover does not seem to run or does not correctly handle this share. Can someone advise how to set my Mover so that it moves all files from data_cache to the array overnight and frees up space on data_cache?Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am still learning Unraid and want to make sure my setup is correct and safe.diagnostics-20251204-1208.zip Edited December 4, 2025Dec 4 by GagiRaid
December 4, 2025Dec 4 Community Expert Solution It's a case problem; delete Data.cfg from /config/shares on the flash drive, then go to the data share and reapply its settings;,make a dummy change if needed.P.S. 7.2.x would warn you about this.
