Issue with occasional unclean shutdowns

Featured Replies

Over the past year, since setting up Unraid on this machine I have experienced unclean shutdowns every 2-3 months. This appears in logs as sudden removal of power and immediate reboot which proceeds to a parity check. Thankfully these have all come back with no errors. I have tested the memory with memtest and found no issues. There does not appear to be significant CPU/Disk load at the time of the restart either. I suspected a UPS problem and also replaced that. I can unplug the UPS from mains and it will detect that properly and stop the array before shutting down automatically.

I've attached log files from the last two times this happened.

Looking for any ideas folks may have on what else to try before going to a different CPU/Motherboard.

Is your BIOS configured to boot on power restore?

Server rebooting by itself is almost always a hardware issue or bad power

Yes, so that is expected.

I'm running a new Back-UPS PRO 1050VA (BN1050M) via USB. Does not seem like an issue with that.

Might be time for an upgrade anyways.

Will the local version provide additional useful data, or do I really need to be setting up a remote solution?

The local should work the same, set it to save to a share.
