Completely wipe/reset Doker and remove all containers

Featured Replies

Apologies if this isn't the right place to post this, but I'm at my wits end with a set of docker containers with NextCloud, Cloudflare Tunnel and Immich, as I try to degoogle myself.

Everything has been up and running fine for about two months, but something went wrong recently and I simply can't get myself back to anything working.

I've done virtually everything I can think of, including obvious reboots, stopping the docker service, making the docker image files bigger etc, but noting works.

I have one orphan container that I can't get rid of and using the prune commands seems to have no effect whatsoever. Any time I try to do anything from inside the UI (such as start the containers or delete them) I have had a range of errors. Currently, it's "Image can not be deleted, in use by other container(s)" (although this is odd as I'm trying to start them, not delete them, but I'm wondering if this is some sort of hangover from the prune command?)

Anyway, it's fair to say I've got myself into a complete pickle. Any advice on how to extricate myself welcome - at this stage, I'd be happy deleting everything and starting over, to be honest, but don't seem to be able to do that, either!

Thanks in advance
SL
