move a share to a new disk

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone!

I had a "games" folder inside my data share on my array

I added a new 4 TB HDD to my array. I just want my isos, roms etc to be on this drive! So I created a new share called games and configured it like this (see screenshot)

but according to the file manager and Main tab the disk 2 is empty and everything is still on disk 1. I tried to run the mover, but nothing happens.

I once heard I should only copy from share to share, but never from disk to disk.

What can I do now?

How a share is configured will only apply to new files written to the share. It won't change existing files (or writes to existing files).

If you want all of the files on Disk 2, you can move them manually. You can use the Unraid's built in file manage, or use a program like Unbalanced (plugin), Midnight Commander (CLI) or Krusader (Docker).

Both of these are OK. What is not OK is disk to share or vice versa
