[SOLVED] Strange SMTP emails from server

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got SMTP set up and it's working fine, but this morning I replaced a 250Gb drive with a new pre-cleared 2Tb drive.  The drive is slowly rebuilding and says it'a going to take 900 mins to complete at 36,287 KB/sec.  Fair enough, but I keep getting this message every 5-10 minutes by email and I don't have a clue what it means, or how to stop it.  Normal emails are being received okay, ie I am receiving my "unRaid Resync Notification" emails fine and the daily status updates.

Email title is;

cron: env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg --lock-file /tmp/mrtg_lockfile /boot/config/mrtg.cfg

Message body is as follows;

SNMP Error:

Received SNMP response with error code

error status: noSuchName

index 2 (OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.9.1.9.2)

SNMPv1_Session (remote host: "localhost" [127.0.0.1].161)

              PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes

                  retries: 5

                  backoff: 1)

Any ideas?

If anyone can tell me how to stop the SMTP process so that I can stop the emails, that would be great.  I assumed it's either due to the rebuild, or I need to reboot my server to see if that fixes it but at this rate I'll get 180 emails before the rebuild finishes!  :o

Edit:  And the only thing that seems to change in the emails is the request ID, which is different everytime.

Anyone?

Lucky me has only 350mins of rebuild to go, and 70 more emails to go.  I hope this goes away when I reboot, it's bloody annoying.

EDIT:  Doh, I was looking at the email and though MRTG was familar, then I realised I installed a while ago to monitor my server ram & CPU usage.  It doesn't seem to like the fact disk2 is being rebuit.  I'll post up in the MRTG thread with this issue.
