M1015 on X9SCM-F?

Featured Replies

How many M1015s can be used on the X9SCM motherboard? More than 2? Only 2 PCIe slots are 8x, so will the M1015 work in the other 4x slots? Will unraid have problems with it?

they will just run at PCIe2 4x speed. still faster then the SASLP-MV8.

Almost twice as fast to be exact. I have my 3x SAS2LP coming here shortly and i'll be putting them on a X9SCM-F. 2GB/s each way, is a heck of a lot better than my current 1GB/s one way PCI-X cards.

Not sure why the card advertises "twice as fast" as SALSP. PCI-E 2.0 = 2x faster, and x8 vs x4 is another 2x. So the top 2 cards will run 4x faster, the 3rd card will run 2x faster than the old generation card many on here use. You should have plenty of headroom with 8 mechanical drives on each.

For some reason I had issues with the m1015 in the 4x slot. But that was with BIOS v2 and esxi. But it works great in the 8x slot.

What kind of issues? Is BIOS V2 stable in ESXi? I'm still on 1.0c
