January 6Jan 6 Hello, I am looking to add a new to me, but used, drive to my BTRFS array. When i go to format it, I get the following error:wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/md4p1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.Extended SMART test came back clean, so I don't think there's anything physically wrong with the drive. Any ideas on next steps?
January 6Jan 6 Community Expert Solution The disk has an existing partition, and it's too small. Assuming no data there, got to Tools - New Config - Keep all - Apply, then back to main, click on that disk and then "ERASE", now start the array and format.
January 7Jan 7 Author That worked. The drive is now active in the array and parity rebuild is in process. Thank you! Edited January 7Jan 7 by @zen
