cache - too many wrong or missing devices

Featured Replies

Hello! I just setup an unraid array, everything was working fine.

I decided to stop the array for a moment, and 1 minute after I tried to restart the array and began to get

"cache - too many wrong or missing devices" error

both cache units are showing as "wrong" and i am unable to restart the array.

Any ideas what could i do?

Attach Diagnostics ZIP to your NEXT post in this thread.

Ah, after running the diagnostics tool the error went away immediately, and got a message stating

"Notice [TOWER] - Cache 2 returned to normal operation

WD_Red_SN700_1000GB_24473G800380 (nvme1n1)"

"Notice [TOWER] - Cache 2 returned to normal operation

WD_Red_SN700_1000GB_24473G800532 (nvme0n1)"

So we can mark this as resolved, how ever if anybody notices anything unusual on the diagnostics that could help understand what could have happened to prevent this in the future, would be really appreciated.

Also I tried stopping and running the array twice after this just to be sure the error was not going to be inmediately repeated.

Post new diags with the array started just to confirm the pool status.
