[7.2.3] Cannot detect HDD after upgrade from 7.1.4

For some reason, I can’t submit a bug report. Every time I try, I’m redirected to my profile management page.

I’m experiencing a strange issue with upgrading Unraid from version 7.1.4 to 7.2.3. After the upgrade, two HDDs were no longer recognized. I checked the cables, but the issue persisted. I then downgraded Unraid, only to find that a different HDD had dropped out.

After searching online and checking with ChatGPT, I suspected the power supply might be the cause, as it was nearly 15 years old. I replaced it with a new PSU, and everything worked fine initially. Based on that, I decided to upgrade Unraid again. However, now one HDD is not detected anymore, even after downgrading.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? I would really appreciate any help!

I eventually found that the issue was most likely caused by the LSI 8400-8i HBA card. It would randomly drop HDDs, regardless of their order or slot. Interestingly, when I connected four existing HDDs to one port and then connected the new HDD to another port, the problem stopped and everything worked normally.
