And besides, deletions (even what may appear to be huge ones) are pretty small potatoes, from a physical bits-changed standpoint.  You are only making small changes to the file system, not changing a large number of bits.  Copying a small video to the array would probably be a much larger change to the server, than deleting every file you have!  I would be much more worried about backups, about accidentally deleting something you wanted to keep.

Yes. A fourth option is not to worry about it. I run automatic monthly checks only.
