UDMA CRC error due to stupidity

Featured Replies

Due to a really stupid operation on the running system, my brand new Seagate IronWolf 6TB drive threw out a 20 UDMA CRC error rate.

Now it is disabled, and if I understand the diagnosis correctly, I can reactivate it because the SMART data etc. are all OK (I also checked all cable connections and reconnected everything).

Do the experts here agree?

I think a rebuild is in order. Thanks for your help.

You can Acknowledge those by clicking the SMART warning (👎) for the drive on the DASHBOARD page, and it will warn again if it increases.

SMART for disk1 is otherwise OK, and disabled/emulated disk1 is mounted.

Yes, you need to rebuild.

Thanks for your confirmation @trurl

I clicked on the warning (👎) and will check if anything additional warning comes up. Don't expect it to happen....
