mikeybunting
I need to have the following devices access my unRAID server (5.0-rc3) 1) Apple MacMini 2) Apple iMac 3) Sony Windows 7 PC Under "Share Settings" // "AFP Security Settings" // "NFS Security Settings" // "SMB Security Settings".......what should my correct settings be? Also, I have read some posts saying that AFP is broken on MAC OS X etc... And then once I have the unRAID security settings setup correctly, how should I then setup the MAC OS X (Lion) "Sharing" settings (System Preferences/Sharing/Options) Share files and folders using AFP or Share files and folders using SMB (Windows) Thanks for the help... dgaschk
AFP should be faster for the Macs but the PC requires SMB. Do both types of systems need access to the same share? Do they both need write access? Quote Link to comment
dgaschk
You can enable both AFP and SMB or just SMB. For SMB on the Mac set the Windows workgroup in System Preferences ->Network -> Advanced -> WINS. Quote Link to comment
