Parity sync speed drops from 70Mbps to 70Kbps

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm replacing an 18TB parity drive with a 28TB parity drive and the parity sync starts off strong showing about 4 days to rebuild, which was expected, but after about 8 hours it drops off to showing 4000ish days to complete. I've replaced sata cables, swapped ports, and I don't know where the issue is now. I've attached my diagnostics, can someone help me figure out what I need to do to speed this up so I'm not crawling along at a snails pace? after 2 days i'm less than 8% completed.

Your log is full of GPFs. I suspect memory.

Have you done memtest recently?

No, I haven't done one in about a year or so. I'll stop the sync and run it then, and see if it finds anything.

The issue was memory. likely the slot on my motherboard was bad. I ran a full memtest and after 6 passes there were errors on test 6 on every pass. so I tested individually, and had 0 failures. I removed one of my 32 GB sticks from my configuration and now its been running steady at about 84 Mbps for over 24 hours.
