2nd flash drive failure in one week (the odds don't support this happening)

Featured Replies

Unraid has been rock solid for me for years, other than the occasional hard drive failure. I recently (last week) replaced a corrupt flash drive. All was well until today when my system froze. The message from the system "The flash drive is corrupt or inaccessible". I have attached diagnostics hoping to understand the underlying issues before I start the paid process of replacing the flash drive, obtaining a new key and reconstructing the system.

Nothin springs out in the diagnostics except that suddenly the flash drive seems to become inaccessible. Maybe the new flash drive really has failed? Have you tried reading it in another system to check?

You make it sound like more than getting a replacement flash drive and doing a licence transfer? The only complication would be that you might need to contact support to help with the licence .key file if the automated transfer does not work.

dell power edge sytems ...

make sure your using a usb 2.0 port and not a powered usb3. this seems like you have a over write or power isseus with the dells usb port killing the drive.

thanks all, pulled usb drive and ran surface scan, no errors found flash drive still good. Recopied config from backup (in case something got corrupted). Reinserted, booted up and and all is good.
