June 7, 201214 yr Why is "unraid driver" continually being removed? FYI - the driver is unloaded/reloaded every time a webGui page is refreshed while the array is Stopped. This is to detect cases of the user hot plugging drives in and out of the server. Could this be a new "Detect Hot-Plug-Drives" button that only shows when array is stopped instead of a reload of the driver on every refresh of the WebGUI? (It would allow the original "trust parity" procedure to force a specific data disk to be re-constructed on the 5.X series. Otherwise, it is not possible to perform without chance that the wrong disk will be re-constructed) If not a new button, could you re-load the md driver ONLY if you detect a newly added drive. (Or better yet, only show the suggested button if there is a new drive detected. ) That way, we will have confirmation if a new drive is detected, and a way to control the entire process that is easier to talk a panicked user through when trying to recover in a difficult disk failure scenario. June 7, 201214 yr +1, on any of these options. Would have to guess a manual click to rescan disks would be the lightest change, less room for error to auto search for any additional drives. The user knows they are stopping the array and adding an additional drive (hot add).
