[Solved]Added 3rd nvme to my system and chaos has unfolded

Featured Replies

Good day,

I hope i can get some help here. Last night after completing the pre clear on 2 disks. One a 3tb mech drive, another being 3rd nvme drive which i added as another cache and separated my VMs from the disk where my downloads were being cached.

The app data and the system shares remained on the old "Cache"

I first started seeing issues when i tried to start up a VM i was creating with a GPU being passed through to it saying it couldn't bind the GPU, which was being used in another VM which i removed in preparation of creating the new VM

It was late and decided i would reboot the server in the morning and try again

Today, i rebooted. After entering the OS weird things started happening. I got errors from the VM side about binds. Failed to start VMs , dockers web pages were coming back as garbage. I tried to reboot again

but I'm still not able to get anything running the way it was.

I'm going to supply my logs and would really appreciate any help getting back up and running

The Samsung NVMe is being passed through to the GamingCLoud VM, so when the VM starts, Unraid loses access to that pool, correct that and post new diags after the array starts.

Thanks, this has put me on the right track.

Im seeing a lot of the pci addresses moved around. I need to edit a few of the xml files to correct this.
Very interesting that it tried to pass that nvme through, must be due to the shifts

Will revert with feedback soon, I thank you kindly

Any time you add new hardware it can potentially change the Hardware Id's so you need to check/redo any VFIO pass-throughs or you may be passing through a device you did not intend.

Thank you, i think i am winning now. I decided to completely remove some of those VMs as i kept getting xml errors referring to devices that are no longer bound in those locations. Ill rather just rebuild the one and i imported the others vdisk and we seem to be back to normal
