Plex missing ~800 movies since drive failure

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've had a drive on the fritz for a couple months now. I have previously been able to clear errors on it and start the array in maintenance mode to re-initialize the disk and rebuild from parity, and it has worked in the meantime, but after a recent hard crash due to an extended power outage, the drive has instead said "wrong or no file system," even after a total parity check. As a result, about 800 of my total 3500 movies have been lost, and I don't have a clue how to track down which ones to start rebuilding. I'm willing to see it as a total loss, so getting back to where I was in the easiest way possible is what I'm after now. Yes, I did already totally reformat the drive in question and have a new one on the way, so I'm not looking to recover anything since I suspect it's impossible, just the best way to conveniently get back to where I was.

I don't use any tools like sonarr/radarr/etc and instead have built my collection one-by-one manually. At the moment, I'm looking for a way to see or compare my current Plex list from what my full list was a few days ago, before the data loss. Is that something that is doable? I'd also like a possible recommendation on automating the process of recollecting the lost files once a list is compiled, since I don't feel like manually seeking out every single one again. Again, I've not used the -arr list of programs before, but it seems like now might be the time.

If anyone has any experience on this, advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Might have been easier to recover the files than it will be to determine what is missing.

Probably so, but that ship has sailed, I'm afraid.

Attached is the diagnostics log.
