Mover not clearing cache

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm trying to replace my cache drive following this guide from AlienTech42 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1orfWpekkqw), when I got to clear the cache with Mover, appdata, domains and system remain (22.7 GB), notably they each have warnings that they data is not protected. (https://imgur.com/a/FGNhsr0) I'm not confident I set the cache up correctly in the first place. I read through this thread (https://forums.unraid.net/topic/123405-mover-not-clearing-cache-even-when-ran-manually/) but remain unsure how to proceed. Would I be better off to do a clean Unraid install following AlienTech42's setup guide this time...

Mover won't replace files. You probably already had some files from those shares on the array, perhaps you enabled Docker and/or VM Manager when you didn't have cache so those got created on the array.

Here are the involved disks:

appdata shareUseCache="yes" # Share exists on cache, disk1, disk2, disk5
system shareUseCache="no" # Share exists on disk1, cache

Doesn't look like domains has files on cache.

Use the built-in File Manager in the webUI to examine each of these disks, delete the older versions of the duplicates.

You will have to configure system share so it will move files. It currently has no Secondary storage so doesn't have a Mover action.

Then you can finish moving them from cache.

When you are ready to move them back you will also have to configure domains for the same reason, no Secondary so no Mover action

Then you just reverse the mover action and move them back to your new cache.
