Mover runs and immediately finishes, no files moved from cache

Featured Replies

Mover has been working fine for the past month but suddenly stopped working. Clicking move now starts and finishes mover immediately but no files get moved to data share on array.

According to your Diagnostics, there is nothing to move.

Your system share needs to be reconfigured so it gets moved to cache where it belongs though.

Ideally, docker/VM related shares - appdata, domains, system - should have all files on cache or other pool with nothing on the array, so dockers/VMs will perform better, and so array disks can spin down since these files are always open.

Currently, your system share is all on the array, and not configured to be moved to cache. It must have a Secondary so it can have a Mover action.

Nothing can move open files. You have to disable Docker and VM Manager in Settings before system can be moved.

Diagnostics shows all files from data share already on the array.

Why did you think they weren't?

Usenet files download directly to the cache and then get moved to the array every night. This stopped working a few days ago. (Screenshot of cache drives attached)

For moving the System share to cache, do I just need to change the "Primary storage for new files and folders" from Array to Cache? (Screenshot attached)

Primary:cache; Secondary:array; Mover action:array->cache

d--a                              shareUseCache="yes"     # Share exists on disk1, disk2, disk3

That user share is configured correctly to move from cache to array. It currently has no files on cache.
