Just wondering is it possible to tell what has been removed from the raid. There is a WDTV live connected to the server and it has a delete funtion and Im worried that something was deleted earlier when someone was playing on it and I noticed the parity drive is up.

I am gonna get a pro account in the coming weeks so im sure it wont be an issue then.

Once you get your Pro license, configure your WDTV to have read-only access to the server (via User Level Security) to prevent this from happening.

I was just gonna order the pro licence now and I thought I would get 2x, my own and my parents (which i havent made yet) as the price is alot better. It doesnt seem possible to do this however without having 2 physical flash drives right now.

Another more embarassing issue for me is that I cannot find the guid for the flash drive. Is the 'device page' in unmenu or the tower/main?

I think i can get it using s.n.a.p though.

So if I order another flash drive and clone the current unraid onto that and then I can just register then both on the same machine just by shutting down and replacing them?

On unraid 5.0, on the main-page, click your flash-drive, it will give you the flash-settings such as the vendor and GUID (and registered status of Unraid, when applicable)

 

And yes, copying the current unraid from your USB (or a fresh version) and booting from that will get you the GUID of the other one to register. You can also choose to buy a two pack now, and register the 2nd one at a later time.

When I bought my Licenses, I only registered 1 of the 2 flash drives. i then registered the second one a few weeks later after i found flash drives on sale.

Great, I will buy it over the weekend so. I ordered another sony microvault on ebay and its coming from hong kong so I thought it I would be waiting a while :]

 

Oh and in the mean time I worked out that the WDTV live is saving the bookmark info all the time as it plays something so that is why my parity is always on. It wont be doing that next week with read only access
