February 5Feb 5 Community Expert Looks like all but disk3 has disconnected, and disk3 also disconnected but reconnected as sde so is now seen as an Unassigned Device.SMART for sde looks OK and since multiple disks are having problems it probably has nothing to do with the disks themselves.Looks like you only have motherboard controllers. How are these disks powered? Any splitters?
February 5Feb 5 Author Thanks for your reply. I am not sure of the cable's name but it looks like a splitter. I have three sata cables coming directly from the motherboard. And this "single" power cable, coming from the PSU, that powers three drives through two ports on the disk enclosure.
February 5Feb 5 Community Expert Solution It looks to me like the right hand plug is not seated. (SATA power connectors are notorious for working themselves loose when subject to any force on the connector. It looks to me like you need to 'form' those wires between the two connectors to make sure that it can not occur...)
February 5Feb 5 Author I have tried to re-plug it properly, it did not seem unplugged, but the server is in a temporary location so it might have been subject to some force as you suggest. However...I powered off before manipulating the cables but somehow it won't show up on the network after reboot...so I can't tell whether it improved the situation.I will have to get a screen plugged in tomorrow to understand what goes wrong (I don't think this is related though)
February 7Feb 7 Author Well, it finally booted properly after another retry (I did not get a chance to plug a screen yet), so I am not sure of what went wrong, but we can consider this as solved. Sorry to not being able to provide more useful information about what fixed (or was) the issue, but it was most likely the badly plugged power cable in the drives enclosure. Thanks again for your help everyone !
