SickBeard Plugin won't install

Featured Replies

I've been having lots of issues with SickBeard, SABnzbd and CouchPotato plugins.  No matter which one, or how I try to install them, they all just hang.

I've removed all traces of all of them and tried from scratch, and nothing works for me.

I figured that since I've been having so much trouble with SAB and CP lately, I'd try installing SicckBeard from scratch, and hope for some good luck.  But I was denied :(

I've downloaded the latest versions from GIT, as modified by WW and Influencer.

I copied the sickbeard_mod.plg to my /boot/config/plugins directory, then ran installplg /boot/config/plugins/sickbeard_mod.plg, and it seemed to successfully install the plugin, every line gave me some version of success, as viewed in Putty, where I'm running the command.

SickBeard now shows properly in the Settings area of SimpleFeatures.  Clicking it brings me to the settings dialog/screen.  All good so far.

I left the Install directory at the default of /usr/local/sickbeard

I clicked the box to allow me to designate a data directory, into which I entered /mnt/user/backup/plugins/sickbeard

Nothing existed in this location before now.  I then change it to "enable" and hit Apply.

It then tells me it's "cloning into Sickbeard" which I find odd, since none of the other plugins "clone" into anything.  However, it seems to have worked okay, and proceeded to "Starting Sickbeard......."

Where it has sat for the last 10 minutes.  SimpleFeatures is hung, and the settings screen is still greyed out and unresponsive.

For fun, I went to port 8083 (the default) and SickBeard is, in fact running; but says this across the top...

Unknown version: If you've never used the Sick Beard upgrade system then I don't know what version you have.— Update Now

I went to the monitor connected to the server and see several messages that indicate success, but one seems to indicate an error.

git: /usr/lib/libz.so.1: no version information available (required by git)

git-remote-https: /usr/lib/libz.so.1 no version information available (required by git-remote-https)

but then goes on to show Receiving objects and Resolving deltas both indicate 100%

Why is it requiring a version number?  Is it never expecting someone to install the first time?  That seems rather a bad assumption to me.

I'm going to click the Update Now link at the top of the screen, but wanted to report my findings thus far, in an effort to get this fixed for others in the future.

Is there any other information I can provide to help resolve?

thanks!

Just refresh the settings screen.

These aren't errors, just warnings. Do not worry about it.

This is a common problem, not only in SickBeard. SickBeard to determine its own version need "version" file which is generated when you push "Update now".

For the quickest reply, keep issues in the plug-in thread. I actively monitor the thread, as does WW, and get to replies as soon as I can. I'll see new posts in the plug-in threads before I see a new post, as I'm usually checking from my phone. I don't get to a computer until night usually
