February 13Feb 13 i'm in the process of building my first unraid server but i'm lost in how to set up my disks.Currently i have an all SSD setup :4 x 2tb Samsung QVO1 x 4tb Samsung QVO2 x Crucial 500gb NVME1 x Lexar NM790 4tb NVME2 x WD Red 500gb NVME1 x Transcend 500gb M2 sataAny ideas on how to set this up?Unraid will be running the ARR suite and some VM's.
February 13Feb 13 Community Expert The different sizes complicate things a little, SSDs can be used in the array, but it's not the best option typically. I assume you want some redundancy?20 minutes ago, patrick1980 said:4 x 2tb Samsung QVOThese could be on a RAIDZ pool.20 minutes ago, patrick1980 said:1 x 4tb Samsung QVO1 x Lexar NM790 4tb NVMEThese a mirror20 minutes ago, patrick1980 said:2 x Crucial 500gb NVME2 x WD Red 500gb NVME1 x Transcend 500gb M2 sataAnother RAIDZ pool if it's usefulYou could also have a RAIDZ pool with the 4x2TB + 4x500GB
February 13Feb 13 Author that's how i did set up the disks now. NVME for cache and larger SSD for movie storage. just left the m2 sata out because i thought it would bottleneck the performace of the nvme drives.
