What about this raid card to extend my storage?

Hello. I have an raid card pcie gen 3 x 16 to 24 sata 3. It has an ASM 1812 +1064 controller. Is it ok to use. If I want to use it should i put the x16 pcie port to 4x4x4x4?

Can't see from the image if there are six ASM1064 controllers, one for each 4 ports, or if there are fewer and port multipliers; the former can be OK (though it will have some bandwidth limitations), the latter typically not.

@JorgeB should i live the pcie port to x16 or split it to 4x4x4x4?

The controller appears to be x4 electrically, so it won't really matter.

@JorgeB - should i use this or an HBA?

An LSI HBA will have much more bandwidth and is more certain to work without issues, if the bandwidth bottleneck is not a concern, the Asmedia chips themselves are typically reliable; I just don't have experience/feedback with that particular brand and model controller.

@JorgeB Sorry to bother you. But if i use a M2 to sata adapter an a pciex16 card to 4 m.2 i have to bifurcate the card to 4x4x4x4? I've see that an LSI HBA rise my power usage whit 25-30 W and i'm looking for an low power compsumption!

As long as it's the only adapter on the slot, no need to enable bifurcation; it will still be x4.
