February 23Feb 23 This seems like a major oversight. I set a move job but I cannot see the progress anymore after minimizing the initial window. And I can't do anything else in the meantime other than cancel the job apparently if I click that option.Nothing shows up at the bottom where others have had a progress message.
February 23Feb 23 Community Expert What Unraid version? You should be able to click the icon on the left to bring that up.
February 23Feb 23 Author 7.2.3 current latestThere's nothing down there. There really should be a dedicated button at the top right like the terminal icon.
February 23Feb 23 Author This is insanely stupid design. There's no freaking way to kill the process. It just gets stuck like this. There's no task manager. What the hell kind of design is this server. This is so stupid.
February 23Feb 23 Community Expert That means something is using a share; a terminal window opened to a mounted folder is enough to cause that.

March 17Mar 17 So is this really how it works? There’s no proper way to manage jobs? Unraid seems nice overall, but this is a major drawback, there’s no real task manager or job manager. So what file manager should I use instead, one that can handle large move operations without losing the session, but can still be canceled if needed? Ideally, I’d also like to be able to queue move jobs. Pleas, pleas don't say terminal with tmux.

Pleas, pleas don't say terminal with tmux. The process can be stopped by using the terminal and killing the background rsync or move process. You can manage file transfers in any flavor you like, it's linux afterall. I prefer using tmux session and rsync. you can also use mc as wellYou can use the unbalanced plugin as well which also is just a gui wrapper for rsync.Like it or not, the terminal is simply the best, most robust, option you have and you should not be afraid of using it.Many people also use the Krusader docker container but I have opinions on that. March 18Mar 18 Community Expert Whichever method you use, you must never mix disks/pools with user shares when copying/moving. The built-in File Manager prevents you from making this mistake.
