downgrade from 5rc4 to 4.7

Featured Replies

I am having many many issues, see my other thread, but as I'm trying to get 4.7 working, it won't let me logon to the web GUI.  my passwords don't work, the root with blank password doesn't work, nothing works.  I have tried removing and replacing any files that seem to have the word passwd in them.

Thanks

I replaced the passwd and smbpasswd files in config and it gets to the webGUI but all 15 disks are red and it says too many wrong or missing disks?  If I put any version 5 back on the drives are green and fine.

Any ideas?

syslog from downgrade and when error too many wrong or missing disks.

syslog.txt

You need to restore your config directory backup from your 4.7 setup.

You need to restore your config directory backup from your 4.7 setup.

Specifically, you need to restore the saved config/super.dat file.

Long gone when my old hard drive died that had those files on it.

So is there any other way?  If I start fresh and create an identical share will all my data be on there?  How do I start over and keep all my current data in the same structure it is in?

Copy a super.dat file from the 4.7 distribution. Your data will be fine.
