Allow USB drives for file transfer in basic plans

Featured Replies

I currently have the basic plan and only have 6 devices allowed, and I am full up with my 5 drives for storage including my parody drive, and my cache drive making it 6. I want to transfer my files from my computer with USB but I can't mount it since it is going over the limit... Why 6? why not 10 or 15? Why not allow users to have more flexibility? Or even allow USB attached drives not count to the pool since they are just used for quicker transfers.

If you don't plug the drive in until after the array is started, it doesn't count.

I did that first and it didn't show up at all as an unsigned device, does it show up somewhere else? I checked shares, and its not there either.

It should show up as an unassigned device. Do you have the UD plugin installed?

Only assigned disks are part of user shares.

People have been doing this for years. Your license is checked when you start the array. After that, anything you plug in is not counted against your license.

You need to have the UD plugin for the drive to show up in GUI unassigned devices section after the array starts; it won't show without it until the array is stopped.

I do not have the UD plugin installed. I will do that. Thank you all for the help.
