I had a drive start to fail and had to reboot before I could swap in a new drive. I'm not sure if I attempted xfs_repair correctly.

Any help would be appreciated!

Screenshots from the webUI are much preferred over photos.

Since you provided a command line photo from your xfs_repair attempt you probably did it wrong. More than one way to get the command line wrong for that. You should use the webUI to check filesystem, it will use the correct command.

Do you know the exact command you used?

Disabled/emulated disk6 is unmountable.

In what way did it fail? Is it still plugged in?

I see unassigned 12TB disk (sdc) serial ZTN18X3P, not clear there is anything wrong with it. Was it the original disk or was it intended to be the replacement?

  • Author

The 12TB disk was the original disk.

But it was an older parity drive I repurposed. I have a new 14TB ready to replace it

These are the steps I took.

Start the array in Maintenance Mode.

Run the following command: xfs_repair -v /dev/md6p1

Now it gives me the error

Next step was xfs_repair -L /dev/md6p1

That seemed to fix the issue.

Now the only issue I have is that I'm not able to access the GUI when Unraid finishes booting. I can choose Unraid OS GUI at startup, but this doesn't start the Docker

That was the correct xfs_repair command.

There are a number of FSCK files on your flash drive, which happens when there are corrupt files.

Do you have a current flash backup?

  • Author

I just did a manual backup. I see all the FSCK files

Should I rebuild the flash drive?

  • Community Expert

Worth a try, backup the current flash drive, then recreate it using the USB tool, confirm the flash drive boots and the GUI is accessible with the stock install, and if yes, restore only the /config folder from the backup overwriting any existing files.

  • Author

Im at a complete losshere. I recreated the flash with the creator and replaced my /config but still no boot into Unraid OS. It boots into Unraid OS GUI mode, and I'm able to rebuild data, but no web access.

  • Community Expert

You didn't specifically mention if it boots without your config. You were supposed to test it that way before restoring your config.

  • Author

Sorry, forgot to mention it did not boot with a stock install

  • Community Expert

Can you boot a stock install from another flash drive?

  • Community Expert

Conversely, will a stock install on that original drive boot another computer?

  • Author

Stock install works, and I'm able to load in to the GUI. As soon as I add the config folder, I'm not able to access it.

  • Community Expert

Sounds like some corruption with your config then.

Start with the stock install, and only restore your license .key file, super.dat (your array disk assignments), and the pools folder from your config.

See if that works.

Making progress! i can access the GUI, and I have all my disks present, now just missing plugins and apps.

  • Community Expert

Easy enough to just reinstall plugins instead of trying to restore any from your config.

If that works then we can try to work with docker templates one at a time.
