WebUI not launching/working, even in safe mode

Featured Replies

Recently rebooting from the WebUI and not the WebUI won't launch, even in safe mode. Tried restart nginx, php, which give the login screen but a 500 error after logging in. Recent diagnostics file from reboot command is attached.

Tried:

Safe Mode

starting/restarting nginx, php services

use_ssl no

Thanks in advance for the help!

Looks like a flash drive problem. Do you have a current backup of flash?

Lots of this in syslog

Mar 5 17:39:52 Tower kernel: critical medium error, dev sda, sector 67110648 op 0x0:(READ) flags 0x80700 phys_seg 1 prio class 2

Which suggests it is really a bad flash drive, not just corrupt.

You must always have a current flash backup.

config folder from flash is all you need to get your configuration going again on a new install. Put the bad flash in your PC and see if you can copy config folder.

Most important thing is to know your drive assignments. If you accidentally assign a data disk to the parity slot it will be overwritten.

Might be better to try first with only your license .key file, super.dat (array assignments) and pools folder. Since you will need a new flash drive it will make you do a license transfer after you boot.

If that all works, you can make a flash backup, then restore the rest of your config and see what happens

Thanks, will try today!

Remaking flash drive with new device, copying config, and transferring license brought everything back. Thanks for the guidance. I'll be sure to back up flash regularly.

You can always download a zipped flash backup from MAIN - Boot Device - flash - FLASH BACKUP.

Unraid Connect plugin will keep a flash backup on Unraid Cloud.
