March 29, 201412 yr Than lets wait till Tom releases 5.0.6. Hopefully that does not take so long. I mean it was schedules for around 14.02.14. By the way, i totally agree with you about unRaid 6, but for another reason. I think it might be problematic having the VM running when your Server is not running 24/7, but goes into S3.
March 29, 201412 yr jump to new topic ..... http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=32640.0 for get unraid 6 x64 and VDR, TVHeadend --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- VDR 2.1.6 (update) unRAID 5.x --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - latest xvdr - latest vnsi5 - latest dvbapi 2.0.1 - i hope fixed libstdc++.so.6 version https://copy.com/03D8XIyTvyV64z7i --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- TVHeadend unRAID 5.x --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - latest from git (commit 6482d33ba9) https://copy.com/03D8XIyTvyV64z7i
April 7, 201412 yr Btw. does anybody here use VDR or TVHeadend in combination with S3 Sleep and can tell me if it is possible to wakeup the unraid Server for scheduled recordings?
April 7, 201412 yr --------------------------------------------------------------------------- TVHeadend unRAID 5.x --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - latest from git (commit 6482d33ba9) https://copy.com/03D8XIyTvyV64z7i great, thanks. I updated the package downloaded by tvheadend-0.6.plg with this file All servers contianing this plugin should automatically download and install the new version on the next reboot.
April 7, 201412 yr yes, is possible but rc.file for start tvheadend or vdr with possibility S3 sleep is very difficult. This solution work example on Openelec, i know if you use pcie card like DVBSky you must unload cx_28885 module before go to S3 and load with diver reload after wake up, im not use S3 and dont have time to investigate how this do it for unraid sorry
April 8, 201412 yr Unloading the driver would not be the big issue. I could do the by using the custom commands i can set in the S3 Sleep preferences. Bigger problem would be loading the stuff back when the server comes out of the S3. Edit: Just have seen that there are custom pre- and post-sleep commands in the S3 Script. That could be the solution. But before i experiment with that i will be waiting for the final version of your VDR Plugin.
April 9, 201412 yr i think im put today this plugin and maybe someone fix, because i cannot find time for this
May 4, 201412 yr I've been pouring over these forums and I just need a small pointer. So I am running unRAID 5.0.5. Which plugin files do I need to download? I have an HDHomerun Prime, and from what I can tell, I need to install the tvheadend plugin first, then select my device, then it will download and install bzroot, after which I reboot. Which other plugins do I need to download for episode guides and recording capabilities?I guess more than anything I'm just having problems finding exactly which files to download. Thanks in advance for any help
May 4, 201412 yr The original post is extremely outdated. Read the first paragraph of this wiki article: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Installing_Tvheadend_in_unRAID
May 4, 201412 yr So it's honestly that simple then now? That's the reason I have absolutely LOVED unRAID, because while I am "alright" at linux, the adding things with PLG's couldn't be easier. So if I understand now, just download 0.6 version of the PLG, install it, and the gui will guide me through getting mediatree installed for drivers for the HD homerun? And this all works well, recordings, channel change etc? With actual cablecard channels etc?
May 5, 201412 yr No, the plg is just for the unRaid package. You need to look for the bz-files yourself. Just follow the steps.
May 6, 201412 yr I once again refactored the wiki page http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Installing_Tvheadend_in_unRAID reuploaded the dev pack and made the instructions suitable for unraid 5.0.5
May 7, 201412 yr hi, seriously dont know what im doing wrong here! Could someone please point me in the right direction. Ive downloaded bzroot and bzimage files for 5.0 final with media tree from piotrasd earlier post (#713) and replaced mine on a fresh instal of unraid 5.0. Ive downloaded the tvheadend 0.6 plg and placed that in boot/config/plugins and installed it (did not load on reboot so used installplg). When I fill in the correct path to my data directory and press start it just hangs. If I manually enter sudo -u root tvheadend etc etc nothing happens. If I type tvheadend -c it tells me there is an error loading shared libraries: libcurl.so.4: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory.
May 20, 201412 yr I'm sorry, I just saw screen shots that look as though the GUI walked you through downloading the bzroot and bzimage files. This won't change any of my settings or anything right?
May 21, 201412 yr There is no drop down under adapters on the TVHeadend webserver. What am I doing wrong? Are there no drivers compiled for the HDHomerun HDHR3-CC? I see it in the supported hardware. What am I doing wrong?
May 21, 201412 yr Does anyone have a version of this where the drivers for OTA (ATSC) tuners work? I don't have a homerun device or anything, just a couple of PCIe TV tuners. They used to be supported earlier on but it seems they got removed now.
May 22, 201412 yr So can some tell me what this does? I went to the site but didn't get a lot of info from it. Can I watch live TV through it? I know it works with XBMC but does it work with PLEX?
May 22, 201412 yr Does anyone have matching bzroot and bzimage files along with a userhdhomerun that works with them? I believe I have the dvbhdhomerun with my tuners listed in the brackets and the type as ATSC. This is correct yes? I think the userhdhomerun file I am downloading from here cannot be read. When I try to edit it in vi it gives me an error. Also, from the looks of KidCastro's post of his file, it looks as thought he file lists the tuners specifically and the types of tuners they are. Does this mean every person has to make their own userhdhomerun file?
May 22, 201412 yr It's a backend for a pvr. I believe plex does have a tvheadend addon. So how does it work, i have Verizon FIOS for my cable. Would I run the cable from the Verizon STB to the back of the server and connect it to the cable input and then receive all the channels? Just not sure how it all works.
May 22, 201412 yr Check out their website, the company is called Silicon Dust. They make different versions. Some are OTA (over the air) and some utilize CableCards if you want to watch cable. The box plugs into the cable, and your home network. Then TVHeadend (ideally) runs on the unRAID server, and handles all of the tuning, Episode Guides, recording etc, and serves it up to any other computer on the network. So you can get rid of the cable boxes, and this thing tunes channels. So it does not need to be located near the server, as long as it's on the same network it will work. The main reason I want this so bad, is that then I can VPN into my home network, and I should be able to stream TV to myself outside of the house. So, you can stream channels straight to any computer without TVHeadend, but there aren't any guides, and you can't record without some type of backend running and handling everything. You can think of this as a much lighter version of MythTV.
May 22, 201412 yr NO ONE has a userhdhomerun file? Or can explain to me how to make one? Man I'm so close this is horrible. Please help! I think I have everything right except my userhdhomerun file is corrupt or something. Every one I download from here, as soon as I try to edit it in vi, I get a "Conversion error line 1" so it seems to be an unusable file. Does anyone have one or can explain how I make one? I know the driver isn't loading, because I don't know how to load it. And absolutely no one seems to see this. PLEASE help.
May 22, 201412 yr Well, I guess this means I'm not getting any help :-( Well, off to do TVHeadend on an actual linux machine which will probably take about 5minutes. I've spent 5 days on this with no responses from anyone.....
