March 16Mar 16 so ive tried spaceinvaderones nextcloud aio video like 100 times it never workswhen you get to the part to install containers it and takes forever for my slow internetit only doesnt install spache&caddy, nextcloud, clientpushhow you install it cuz this thing will not install
March 16Mar 16 Community Expert In my opinion you're better off installing the standard Nextcloud container by Linuxserver
March 16Mar 16 Community Expert Yeah, use official or LSIO, AIO is really poorly suited for use on Unraid.
March 17Mar 17 Author oh ok.. why is the aio bad choice for unraid.. i kinda got it installed yet the appache wont is running but wont display nothing just a blank screen white..what is the difference between the nextcloud and the aio is the aio just a pain in the butt? ive never tried it i been trying for a couple weeks to install this and its just been a pain in the butt as i wanted a backup for my family and its supposed to be able to mount a drive letter or something like one drive or so.. i did like how zimaos works when you log in it mounts a drive letter but frig its only good for 1 user and havent found something similar..
March 17Mar 17 Hi @comet424 , have you checked the official install docs for unraid? https://github.com/nextcloud/all-in-one?tab=readme-ov-file#how-to-run-aio-on-unraid
March 17Mar 17 Author @szaimen ya i had looked it only talked about how to convert your docker image file to just a docker folder.. i have that setup a while back now because of the annoying its always filling upthe 2nd linke was about user scripts but i didnt do that cuz i set the aio-master container to start 120 seconds after all dockers starti wasnt sure if thats the same? and i guess ud have to set that script to do that whenever you start the array

If/When this volume is deleted/removed, your data goes with it. It's not accessible from outside the AIO container. And for the simple headache it's already giving you.
March 17Mar 17 Author @MowMdown ah ok ya it seems a headache so the nextcloud aio confuses the docker system so thats why u need to make it a docker folder instead of an image is it? i went to the folder way because i was getting frustrated with the notifications of my image 90% full etc and was at 60gb or 80gb i forgetso i thought all data is accessabile outside toe docker volume? though everything saves to the appdata folder but just the program itself is in the docker image ... it is a headache i installed the nextcloud and its a headache you gotta install a mariadb.... i just trying to find a simple backup like for my family like where it mounts a drive letter to there folder share.. that have setup i didnt like how owncloud works opencloud works ok... i so used to a mapped drive letter so i was trying to do something like that for family when they not at home... the best routes so i been just playing with different programsmixed results

It does give you the option of using the built in sqlite db if I recall correctly. However setting up mariadb is quite simple. And now you're finding out that self-hosting has it's pitfalls. You become the network engineer. setting up and maintaining your own infra. However once you do get it working, you can feel satisfied and accomplished.
March 17Mar 17 Author @MowMdown ya like for local use i just map a drive letter but to get for family kids grown up so i just wanna backup there files to the server so they got a backup... now i also thought just give them openvpn connection through pfsense and then just map a drive letter but with windows and the headaches of user name is always bs for samba shares... so i was looking for something that worked i liked ZimaOS whic is a fork off CasaOS and it has a client os you install in windows you log in and it automaticlly maps a drive letter to the server share.. but problem there its only good for 1 user cant do multi user but that seems good it auto mounts so once logged in say drive H: is now a share on the server liked that but i havent found similar in unraid options.. and lot of bloat too in some of the os what programs if i may ask do you use if any for remmote connection... as for the nextcloud it said it has the sqlite but its not recommended.. so i didnt try it..
March 17Mar 17 Author my family isnt tech savy and some get frustrated with computers so i trying to find a simple way they can connect... they have the attitude my father had issues with te rolly ball mouse when it didnt move he smashed it on the mouse pad .. till i scraped the crudd off the 2 rollers inside.. he wasnt tech savy but was a great tool and die maker.. so i just trying to find simpliest.. as i cant be there to always get it working for them..and i selected the sqllite for the nextcloud and that got to a dashboard or so.. so ill try the plain at least...
