March 19Mar 19 syslog-192.168.1.96.logCan't figure out for the life of me why my unraid server keeps randomly restarting. I'm running the latest 7.2.4 on a pretty simple setup with 3 data drives and 1 parity drive, no cache drives. My hardware is fairly old with an AMD Athlon™ II X2 250 @ 3000 MHz processor and 8gb of ddr3 ram.Since the crashing started I have replaced the power supply, with a new corsair 750 watt, and just replaced the ram with 2 4gb sticks of ddr3. Turns out neither of these were causing the issues. As it still randomly restarts when sitting idle about once a week.I've ran memtest 86 on the old ram and the new ram with no errors showing. Not sure what else would be causing the random restarts. My usb stick is fairly old but checks out with no errors, testing on windows. I'm only running 1 plex docker (linuxserver version) as I use the server for streaming. It never crashes while being used, only when sitting idle. I have syslog setup on 1 of my data drives, and have uploaded the file here trying to see if I could see any errors when it shuts down, but can't see anything definitive. I'm a newbie when it comes to unraid so go easy on me. Thanks tower-diagnostics-20260319-1641.zip Edited March 19Mar 19 by GrahamW
March 20Mar 20 Community Expert Have you ran a Memtest with the replacement RAM? I would start with that. Then if that can pass 24 hours, run unraid in safe mode with no plugins or conatiners. If you can run it as a basic NAS for a day or two, I would start enabling services up one at a time and see if you can survive from any crashes then continue.Either youre running faulty RAM or you may be running out of memory. If nobody had made a new post anybody who had already read the thread would not know there was anything new to see and the thread might not get visited again. That is why I always say1 hour ago, trurl said:Attach Diagnostics ZIP to your NEXT post in this thread.

So once it started crashing a few months ago I just replaced both sticks with 2 4gb sticks. I've ran memtest on both different sets of ram with no errors on either. Ddr3 is not exactly easy to find so trying more is not really an option without upgrading the whole motherboard and CPU.
