Server seems to be randomly rebooting while array is active.

Featured Replies

Hi, my unraid server seems to be randomly rebooting but only while the array is active. I'm only able to tell this because the GUI will go down for a little bit, then back up saying unclean shutdown and the array will be off. Tried replacing the boot USB problem continues, attached diagnostics file. Have tried leaving different dockers on/off problem continues.

Not sure where to start so any help is appreciated, will update as I find out more.

Thanks!

Server rebooting by itself is almost always a hardware issue. CPU is not being correctly identified in the diags, is it an engineering sample? Also start by running memtest.

Yes the server runs dual xeon e5 2683v4 engineering samples that always show up as generic intel

Any recommendations for plugins for conducting a memtest? never done that before.

That could be the issue.

You can run memtest from the Unraid boot menu, there's also the Live Memory Tester plugin.

i've had this system running for about 5 years the problem is relatively new the CPU's haven't given me problems before.

not writing off the possibility that one of them is kicking the bucket though, or something else in the system.

wilco on the memtest
