not enough space when upload file to share.

Featured Replies

Started getting this when uploading any file size. minimum free space is set to 160Gb on both share and cashe. ive restarted both server and PC as well. i was able to upload over 80 gb of movies the other day and now its not. im using 12TB out of 30TB total so theres more then enough room.Any suggestions?

it also seems that it only part of the file that its having issues with. it starts to upload to the server then fails at roughly 24% some of the video and data makes it over but the rest of the file acts like it doesn't have enough room.

If you edited Minimum Free for cache or for that share, you might try restarting the array to see if it will apply the new settings.

According to the diags, floor for Media is 1GB

This is when i upload from either my PC. i have a network share titled media that i upload files to after im done ripping the media to a .MKV. This file is also where my jellyfin looks for media to stream. when attempting to upload a media file the last 5 files have refused to upload to the share and throws up that there is not enough space and these file are between 1-3GB or even 45.8Gb. im only using 12Tb out of 30Tb (3x10Tb drives and a parity) so there is more then enough space on the drives.

Did you see this? Unless the diags were out of date, the floor for Media was still only 1GB.

This is on my pc. its on win 11 latest version

With a 1GB floor, that error is normal, question is why the floor in the diags doesn't match the screenshot you posted. Post the output from

cat /boot/config/shares/Media.cfg

Then reapply a new larger floor for that share and post new diags.

Doesn't floor mean a drive won't be selected if it has LESS than that amount free? All drives have more than 1GB free.

I am wondering if the Windows error message is an accurate description of the real problem.

Thanks, the Media share is set to fill up, and I noticed that disk1 was at 99%, but didn't notice the actual free space.

A quick test would be setting the share to high-water or most free and then resting. That would rule out any kind of actual capacity issues or problems with disk1 or its filesystem, since the writes would go to another disk.

i changed it to high water and after a reboot tried uploading the file. it did the same thing. im starting to suspect that it could be the actual file is bad/currupt because i was able to do a different 2Gb file upload to a different share that was not media related. i might have to re rip the DVD and see if its just a bad file.

That could be the issue.

Im not sure at this point if its a file or the Share. It seems to be every other movie or series i load into the share. its showing anywhere from 1Gb needed to kb needed. Ive even went so far as to use unbalance to move half of the files to another disk and set it to high water. Im not sure if its something i configured wrong or an issue/setting that i missed.

Still wondering if the error message is accurate. That looks like Directory Opus, which I also use but don't experience this problem with it.

Have you tried New Permissions on that share?
