April 6Apr 6 HII'm trying to copy some data from my array to an external usb hard drive. I've installed unassigned devices plugin but my usb hard drive doesn't show up under unassigned devices in the main tab of the gui.Can anyone help me?
April 6Apr 6 Community Expert Please post diagnostics with the USB drive attached. Also can you provide a screenshot of the webgui page where you expect to see the USB HDD. Thanks (helps when we see what you see)I would also suggest installing the Unassigned Devices Plus plugin as well as it may be necessary. Edited April 6Apr 6 by MowMdown
April 6Apr 6 Author thanks for replying. I'm not sure what you mean by diagnostics, but here is a screenshotI already have the Unassigned Devices Plus plugin

April 6Apr 6 Author thanks ever so much.Ive attached the diagnostics zip file unraidtower-diagnostics-20260406-1608.zip
April 6Apr 6 Community Expert I'm not seeing any USB drive listed. Unplug it, plug it in again, and grab new diags immediately after.
April 6Apr 6 Author thanks for looking into this for mehere is the new diagnostics. unraidtower-diagnostics-20260406-1634.zip
April 6Apr 6 Community Expert Still nothing. Have you tried another port? Can you tell us more about the USB drive? Got a link to the product?
April 6Apr 6 Community Expert No USB device is being detected, like if it wasn't even plugged in. This is not an Unraid or UD issue.
April 6Apr 6 Author hi. yes I plugged it into another port for the second diag. Its a Seagate 1TB model SRD0NF1
April 6Apr 6 Author Just now, trurl said:Does it work if you plug it in to another computer?yes, absolutely. Ive also tried with several usb sticks and still nothing comes up
April 6Apr 6 Community Expert Can you see it as an Unassigned Device if you boot in SAFE mode? (You won't be able to mount it since the plugins won't be installed).

April 6Apr 6 Community Expert Doesn't really look like you have any plugins that might be a problem anyway.16 minutes ago, ives said:also tried with several usb sticks and still nothing comes upYou mean other USB drives also don't show as Unassigned Devices? Are you trying to run Unraid as a VM?

April 6Apr 6 Community Expert I assume you are booting Unraid from a USB flash drive. Correct?Have you ever tried to use an Unassigned Device before on this hardware?

April 6Apr 6 Community Expert Are you using ports on the I/O panel (the back)? Or are you trying to use ports on the case (which might not even be connected)?
April 6Apr 6 Community Expert Maybe try powering down and even unplugging your server for a minute in case something is not resetting with your USB controllers. Can you see the USB drive in BIOS?
