So have been trying to get unraid connect and remote access setup and working from unraid connect portal externally. This used to work fine many OS verisons ago with port forwarding but have not tested it with the new Unraid Connect BETA.

Current OS Version 7.2.4

Im sucessfully logged into Unraid.net account and have registered my server. I can see my server both in https://connect.myunraid.net/ and https://account.unraid.net/server and i can see my server stats.

CA Certificate has been provisioned undie the Managment access tab.

What is explained in the guide is different to what i see in my Unraid API Settings page.

The guide explains there are two connection methods Dynamic or Static.

Dynamic sounds like the best option and the guide says I can also use this with Upnp or Manual port forwarding

Dynamic remote access provides secure, on-demand access to your WebGUI.

• Access is enabled only when you need it. The WebGUI remains closed to the internet by default, minimizing the attack surface.

• Works with UPnP or manual port forwarding.

• Automatically opens and closes access through the Connect dashboard or API, with sessions limited by time for added security.

Static remote access keeps your WebGUI continuously available from the internet.

• Server is always accessible from the internet on the configured port.

• Higher risk: The WebGUI is exposed to WAN traffic at all times, increasing potential vulnerability.
  

Dynamic remote access setup

To set up dynamic remote access:

1. In Settings → Management Access → Unraid API, select a dynamic option from the Remote Access dropdown:

   • Dynamic - UPnP: Uses UPnP to open and close a random port automatically (requires UPnP enabled on your router).

   • Dynamic - Manual port forward: Requires you to forward the selected port on your router manually

Firstly in settings and under Management i have 4 tabs: Management Access, Unraid API Status, Unraid API Settings, API keys

There is no Settings → Management Access → Unraid API

Under my Unraid API Settings Tab what i see is that im logged into my unraid.net account.
If I scroll down i can see the remote access settings
Allow remote Access: with options "ALWAYS" or "DISABLED". Ive selected ALWAYS
Remote Access Forward type: with options "STATIC" or "UPNP". Ive chosen STATIC

Remote Access Port: Random port Number I choose.

No where in the Unraid API settings page does it show any settings related to Dynamic even ?

So is the guide out of date? applies to older OS versions? Or is there something wrong on my side

Have tried unregistering my server and also uninstalling inraid connect plugin and then set it all up again from scratch and get the same settings and result.

I run an OPNSense router and as I understand it there is abit of setup required to enable UPnP, and from what I read can also comes with some risks.

I can setup manual port forwarding easy enough, but not sure how they fits into the "Dynamic" process explaied in the guide and seems more like Static and always on?

Not an answer to your issue, but I would recommend using Tailscale instead; it's much easier to set up, and safer since there's no port forwarding.

Ive actually got Tailscale Setup and working. but trying to get in from a machine i cant install tailscale on, e.g corporate machine.
