Recover boot device backup / server config

Featured Replies

Hello,

My bootable USB failed for the 3rd time in 6 months and at the same time I have upgraded the RAM on my NAS.

I have created a new bootable USB and have asked support to transfer my license to this new USB GUID.

My server is back up and running but I have lost my config, it's like I have a brand new server, my shares are gone and so are my files.

In the past, when I have created a new bootable USB, when I logged back in my server had retained it's config, and the shares were as before.

In the past I have setup USB backup via Unraid Connect.

The issue is that when I login to Unraid Connect I am not able to download a backup of my bootable USB, that option is simply not there.

I have raised a ticket with support but they have not been able to help me.

What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't my backup be available, despite the fact that the server is offline?

Also, I can read my old USB. Could I simply copy the necessary files from it to my new USB? Is it just a matter of copying across the config folder?

Any help will be much appreciated, TIA.

This (less the old licence.key file as you will have a new one for the new USB stick).
