April 29Apr 29 Hey folks, I'm trying to setup my first Unraid NAS, and I bought 2x factory re-certified Seagate Exos X24 drives (both are ST24000NM000H). They are connected to a Jonsbo N2 (or I'd like them to be).Every time I try to boot my machine either of these drives inserted nothing can seem to recognize them. The bios and unraid both report them as not there. The behavior is slightly different for 2 of these drives vs 1 of these drives:1x drive behavior: unraid actually boots but can't see the drive at all2x drive behavior: I just get beeping from either the motherboard or the control plane and blinking blue lights inside the control plane, sort of sounds like a test failure or something.I've read a bit about these drives maybe being power hungry or having some weird issues like that. The backplane is powered by 2 4-pin molex connectors coming from my Corsair SF750.I'd love any advice you might have to try to debug this a little further. For clarity sake I also bought a recertified 12TB Seagate Exos (ST12000NM0127) and it works just fine.

I wonder if this is hitting some limit on draw across the one cable causing the drives to not spin up at all when in use.

April 29Apr 29 Author I’ve done some more testing by plugging the 24tb drives directly into a data connection to the motherboard directly with a known working cable and plugging them both into the psu directly with a known working cable. One of the 24tb drives starts beeping immediately, but I feel not spinning, and it’s not recognized. The other 24tb drive doesn’t make a sound, also doesn’t feel like it’s spinning either. Neither get recognized by the bios as well.Seems like there’s something wrong the these drives unless I’m missing something else.
