Unraid cache-drive no backup

Featured Replies

Hello good people..

I need some help, i moved most of my folders like, system isos and docker to a cache-drive.. Now the cache drive is corrupt, and i need them restored.. Any guides to how to do this??

Thank you regards:)

The pool is mounting and I'm not seeing any errors with it. Can you expand on what you mean by "cache drive is corrupt"?

Hello again, Thank you!

I have no idea of what is going on:( I use the cache drive to store appdata, docker, system, isos and so on.. The problem started with everything deactivated under the docker tab.. i tried to reboot, which helped.. Then it kept happening, so i tried to downgrade the unraid version. Which helped for about a week.. Now the problem is there again( When i go to the docker tab, i cant do anything. And i cant even see my docker containers.. Then i tried to go to main, and that said that the nvme was deactivated.. . so again i rebooted and it works fine for a few hours..

I have also tried to move files from my cachedrive to the array but that wont work either??

Anyone with an idea??

Thank you!

Regards

Next time it happens, post new diags before rebooting.

Also, disable mover logging so that it doesn't spam the log in the meantime.

May 1 00:44:43 Tower kernel: nvme nvme0: controller is down; will reset: CSTS=0xffffffff, PCI_STATUS=0x10

May 1 00:44:43 Tower kernel: nvme nvme0: Does your device have a faulty power saving mode enabled?

May 1 00:44:43 Tower kernel: nvme nvme0: Try "nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=off pcie_port_pm=off" and report a bug

NVMe device is dropping offline; try this:

on Main click on the flash drive, scroll down to "Syslinux Configuration", make sure it's set to "menu view" and add this to your default boot option, after "append initrd=/bzroot"

nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=off pcie_port_pm=off

e.g.:

append initrd=/bzroot nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=off pcie_port_pm=off

Reboot (or power cycle the server if just a reboot doesn't bring the device back) and then see if it makes a difference.

Diags are after rebooting, but if the device is still dropping, not much else you can do on the Unraid side; look for a BIOS update or try another m.2 slot, if that doesn't help, best bet is to use a different brand/model device.

Typically it's plug and play, but if you have VMs with PCIe passthrough, those will likely need adjusting.
