Upgraded from b14 to rc4 and now the GUI freezes after I start the array. System log attached. Unmenu shows a parity check in progress at 374 KB/sec. Waiting for it to finish will take 86584 minutes (two months). What's plan B?

    be patient...

    apparently you did not have a clean shutdown, so transactions are being re-played from the transaction journals in the file-system.  (I've seen this take 30 minutes or more on a large disk)

     

    That is probably drastically slowing the parity check, so once the file systems are mounted, the parity check should get to normal speed.
