May 3May 3 Hi. I woke my mediaserver up as normal and tried to watch a video on my HTPC only to be told it cannot find the video file so I logged onto my Unraid server via a browser only to be met by the screen attached below. No array, no drives, no cache drive and no boot usb drive showing. The only drive showing (in unassigned disk devices) is in a removable HDD bay and wasn't part of the array. It's not a dead SATA controller as the removable HDD bay is attached to the same controller as the array. I cannot access the logs or terminal to see what happened they prompt me to press Enter to connect then says "Connecting" for a few seconds then prompts me again. Can anyone advice me on how to fix this as I'm not that experienced with Unraid.
May 3May 3 Community Expert See if you can get diagnostics first and if so post them. Highly likely, though, that it will not be possible. After trying that I would suggest power-cycling the server (if necessary long pressing the power button to get it to shutdown) and see if that brings things back. Posting diagnostics taken after doing that is also a good idea.
May 3May 3 Author Diagnostics doesn't seem to be working, I left it running for over 20mins.I tried the power cycling and even tried rebooting into Safe Mode. Still no drives showing. Cannot seem to be able to do much through the browser GUI. I'm not sure what else I can do.I can connect via SSH but have no idea what to do to fix this.
May 4May 4 Community Expert See if you can get the diagnostics from safer mode, if not, get just the syslogcp /var/log/syslog /boot/syslog.txt
May 4May 4 Author I managed to get these logs. Hope they have some useful info. mediaserver-diagnostics-20260503-2306.zip syslog-previous
May 4May 4 Community Expert Solution Disk4 is missing, is this expected? Also, do the orhwe disks show if you use a different browser to access the GUI?
May 5May 5 Author Yes that is expected. Disk 4 was showing a pre-fail SMART warning and I was planning to replace it. It was in place the first time I started up and found the entire array gone. Thinking it may have failed and was holding down the SATA controller I shutdown and unplugged it but that didn't fix the problem. I then thought maybe the SATA controller failed so I plugged the replacement drive into the removable HDD cradle and it showed up meaning the SATA controller was working. That's when I came here for help.QH wow, changing browser worked, it's now showing all the drives. Wonder why the GUI suddenly stopped working properly in Firefox. Will have to look into that. Thanks for the help.P.S. It turned out that the issue was with my NoScript pluggin, for some reason it started blocking scripts on my local network. GUI is now working in Firefox. Thanks again for your time and help.
