Does unraid ever go on sale..

Featured Replies

I have a cheap server with 3 x 250gb drives in.

I just want to add one more drive but the upgrade cost of unraid is more than the cost of a drive lol.

Does unraid ever go on sale. Id pick it up if it was on cheap or even a special offer for people using fewer drives or smaller capacity drives.

Unraid is already cheap for what it offers!

It's only £20 for one more 250gb drive but the license to put that in will cost me over £50.

unRAID may not be right for you then.

You can always write your own code and make your own system.

You're talking tiny drives there! In that case, yeah, unraid costs 44 pounds today, which is more. But with such tiny drives, you could switch them to 3tb or 4tb drives, or if you mean 2.5'' 1tb, which costs more, but will give you space without unraid-cost.

I like it. I just wondered if it ever goes on sale as at the moment I only want to add one drive.

If I were you I'd start replacing the 250's with larger capacity drives. Right now you are at 500 gb capacity. You could bump that up to 2-8 tb without upgrading unraid. Of course it would cost more initially but it would be more cost effective in the long run.

And I've never seen unraid go on sale
