Planning to upgrade 6.12.15 to 7.2.6, can I just replace the bz* files on the flash drive?

Featured Replies

I have some customization of the flash drive (mainly I've replaced the syslinux bootloader with grub and a couple of slackware packages installed in /extra, custom go and stop files) so I'd rather not mess with it more than necessary. I believe I've read that is all an upgrade really does.

Using the GUi to upgrade will not touch the bootloader, but you can also copy the bz* files files manually, also copy changes.txt.
